Since his election as Federal Member for Mallee in 1993, John FORREST has been your local Member in Canberra delivering for North West Victoria and making representations for individuals on a host of issues.
FAMILIES
Delivered security to families, personal tax
cuts, increased family payment, improved
child care assistance, low unemployment –
all benefits of a strong Australian economy.
HEALTH
Increased the number of health services
that bulk bill in Mallee and will continue to
fight for improved health services.
AGED CARE
Delivered more aged care beds and capital funding and committed to working hard for additional aged care services in North West Victoria.
WIMMERA MALLEE PIPELINE
Championed this project for the benefit of the community of North West Victoria and used it to get Federal dollars and progress the issue of water shortages in the National interest. What a wonderful achievement for all involved in this $1 Billion project that now provides quality water to nine municipalities in the Mallee Electorate.
EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT
Achieved direct funding for our schools and remains committed to employment programmes that assist our young people to become job ready.
TRANSPORT
Delivered millions of dollars for Local Government road, rail and bridge projects across the Federal Mallee Electorate stretching from the Murray River in the north to south of Horsham.
DIGITAL TELEVISION
Working hard to ensure a quality digital television reception is received by all homes in the Mallee Electorate.
 John FORREST was born and bred in the Mallee and knows what it’s like to work hard.
John FORREST has experienced the rigours of a horticultural farm and his own successful consulting engineering business. He will continue to work hard for the protection of our food production, regional communities, the environment, health of our rivers.
John FORREST cannot stress enough the importance of our region’s small businesses and retaining the skills base in farming, manufacturing, service and professional sectors. |
